Notifications Service

Notifications are available as an opt-in subscription based service.

As a Cloud Billing Studio user, you will be able to proactively select from a list of system events to be notified when they are triggered. This provides an out-of-band alert for key events without having to login to Cloud Billing Studio.

Key features:

  • Email based notification only at the current time

  • Subscribe to defined system events of interest and unsubscribe from events that are no longer desired

    • It will use the email address of the logged on user

    • Other email addresses may be added

      • Group addresses are not support, only individual email addresses

      • Address validation

        • Must be a valid email address

        • Only email addresses matching the email domain of the logged in user can be added

    • Logging of subscriptions is performed

      • Timestamp for subscription

      • User identity performing subscription

      • Events subscribed to

      • Email addresses to be notified

  • Notifications will be detected and sent during each sync cycle

    • Notifications are near real-time for when event occurs

    • Each notification will be logged

      • Timestamp of notification

      • Event that triggered the notification

      • Email addresses notified

  • Each event will be a separate email

    • Only one email for an event will be sent during the sync cycle

      • An event may experience multiple triggers during the sync cycle with each being itemized in the email

    • If an email address is duplicated for an event subscription, it will only receive one email for that event

 

Notifications will have the following content:

  • Email Subject

    • IDSync Alert: [Event title]

  • Email Body

    • Event title and definition

    • For each occurrence of a triggered event during the current sync

      • Event timestamp

      • Relevant detail pertaining to the event record
