Verify SQL Connectivity with .UDL file

Follow these steps on the DC to test SQL connectivity and if it fails then it is likely a connections to SQL issue that needs resolved.

Steps:

Open Windows Explorer, right click in empty white space and select New, Text Document

Create an empty text file but instead of .txt make the extension .udl

Open

Then run the UDL file and it will open as a SQL Test dialog

Open

On the Connection tab

Type in the server name (same as used in IDSync)

Type in the same username and password

Click Test Connection

If it is OK, then click the dropdown to select database

Select the IDSync database

Click Test Connection again
