Autotask API User Setup

The Autotask Configuration is a multiple-step setup:

1- Configure an Autotask API user for use with the IDSync integration

  • In the Resource Management system, add a new resource by selecting New API User

  • Ensure that you select Security Level = API User (system) as shown in the example here.

  • Fill-in the required fields

    • First Name

    • Last Name

    • Email Address

    • Select Primary Internet Location

  • Assign a username and password... this username and password will be used in the next step of this process

    • You can have Autotask generate these using the provided buttons or you can type in your own value for both

      • Username needs to be in the format of an email address

      • Press the Generate Key which will provide the proper format and domain

      • Replace the string in front of "@" if you want something not random

  • Also ensure that you select API Tracking Identifier = Innerapps - Identity Syncronizer.  This improves API support and security for Autotask.
