Manually Install the Agent Service

Problem

Agent service is not properly remotely deployed, due to user's security level or windows security restrictions.After the remote deployment has failed, manual install is required.

Sometimes an error message is shown, pointing that the remote install couldn't write a new registry key..


When the user tries to run the service in the remote server, an error message is shown:

Solution

Follow these steps to manually install the Agent Service:

1.- Log into the remote server with proper admin-level credentials.

2.- Open the Windows Explorer, navigate to C:\Windows\System32, locate the Agent.DLL file and rename it (the system won't let the user to delete the file, just to rename it).

3.- Navigate to C:\Program Files\Identity Syncronizer\ , locate the application named Syncronizer.Agent.Config.exe, right-click on it and "Run as administrator"

4.- Make sure the "Enable Syncronization" checkbox is checked, then click the "Install" button.

5.- A message showing that the Service Installation was completed wil appear.

6.- The server must be rebooted for the service to be correctly started.
